Held each year on the third full weekend of October in Statesville, North Carolina, Carolina BalloonFest is a vibrant three-day celebration of hot-air ballooning, community and fall fun. As one of the oldest balloon festivals in the U.S., it features dozens of colorful balloons ascending early morning and late afternoon, mass ascensions, and spectacular evening balloon “glow” events.

Beyond the skies, the festival offers live music, artisan markets, a Kids Zone, food & drink from North Carolina vendors, tethered balloon rides (weather permitting), and a family-friendly atmosphere.

Organized by a nonprofit and committed to giving back to the community, the event blends visual spectacle with local engagement—making it a memorable autumn outing for all ages.
